Dreiländereck
Brooch / Pendant - B003
|
A culturally significant sculptural
jewellery design by Kerstin Laibach.
Dreiländereck is the tri-border point of the Rhine
river in the central European city of Basel (Basle) where
France, Switzerland and Germany meet. As with all Laibach
pieces, this captivating work is entirely handmade, using
a surface gathered stone and recycled materials, with no
detrimental environmental effects. A 10 percent donation
from the sale of this "geographically unifying" piece goes
to TRUZ (Tri-National Environmental Organisation) (Germany
Switzerland and France) for re-naturing and conservation
projects in the south Rhine region.

The central feature
of Dreiländereck is a locally-gathered satin-black Rhine
stone set in silver with a graduated wave of infused 24ct
fine gold.
Although the triangular structure is flat, it can give the
illusion of dimensional depth.

The back of Dreiländereck
also reveals attention to detail typical of Kerstin Laibach's
work.
A handmade double pin attachment prevents drooping when
pinned to a garment and includes a flip-stop for easier
pinning. The piece also looks stunning when hung as a pendant
by looping your desired cord or chain though the top of
the triangle. Also stands at a perfect angle for displaying.

Kerstin Laibach handmakes
every aspect of her pieces including intricate chains and closing
mechanisms. This aligns with her
ethical principles,
which, without compromise, also means nothing newly-mined, so no environment / habitat displacement,
no animal-derived products and is cruelty-free.
What
is the difference between recycled gold and new-mined
gold?
