Kerstin Laibach offers various methods and alternatives, which ensure that your rings are truly made with the most ethically sourced stones possible - and this means nothing new-mined. Instead, Kerstin may be able to recover precious gems from your unwanted / broken old jewellery and create a breathtaking new ring for you. She can also source high quality antique diamonds for your rings on special request.
Also on request, Kerstin can obtain flawless lab-created diamonds. Lab diamonds are the result of new HPHT (High Pressure High Temperature) or CVD (Chemical Vapour Deposition) technologies. They signify a breakthrough in growing "real" diamonds, which are comparable and can proportionally be considered "purer" than their mined counterparts; being of the same crystalline structure and optically "almost" identical. The environmental impact when growing a lab diamond (controlled minimal emissions) is extremely low compared to its mined equivalent. The product miles (Co2 emissions) incurred are also significantly less than a mined diamond.

As with the mining of precious metals, Atelier Laibach firmly believes that devastation to complex eco-systems also caused by gemstone mining should not become a band of guilt that you wear for life as a wedding or engagement ring. When giving a little luxury with a clear conscience to your loved one - and with the environment firmly in mind - we suggest you choose recycled (antique) gemstones as a first choice and lab-created diamonds as an alternative. It's worth first checking within the family if there is old jewellery which is discarded or broken. If suitable, gems and even the precious metals could become the basis of your new relationship rings. Kerstin will advise you on these options during the ordering and design process.
