Repair and Restore - Extending a Respect for what our Planet has Provided in the Past

The Laibach principle excels on creating beautiful pieces sometimes derived from recycled jewellery and its associated materials. But before you assume that recycled creations can't be pristine or perfect, the methods used have to be understood for their pure and positive attributes.
For centuries, gold, silver and gems of all kinds have been extracted from the earth - nearly always to the detriment of the environment. However, earth's natural resources of this kind can never be considered as being "new" just because it was mined last week and made into a piece of jewellery. A precious stone has taken millions of years to form and even once extracted it is still a timeless asset. "New" means only the form in which it has been crafted it into. Therefore, creating new forms by re-forming old pieces is a naturally cohesive way to extend a respect for the precious elements that combine and re-combine throughout time to make beautiful jewellery.
There are enough already-mined precious stones and metals circulating the planet which could be reformed into new jewellery indefinitely. Therefore, with so many millions of old, forgotten or simply undesired items crammed into dressing table draws, the most environmentally friendly "mine" which Kerstin Laibach extracts from may be your old jewellery box!
