Your Ring Size
Please read all the following
information carefully ...
Ask
For Our Ring Sizer
As a first measuring
choice, please ask for our Sizer when ordering rings and we will
post it to you immediately. This is a free service and clear instructions
are included.
If you are ordering a pair of rings for partnership or marriage,
our Ring Sizer process enables you to provide us with both sizes.
Checking your ring finger at home with our Sizer is the most relaxed
method to help you find a comfortable fit.
Please note: it is not the case that ring fingers should be measured
just at the end of the day. Your fingers can swell or contract
any time of the day to as much as one whole ring size.
Examples that can cause fluctuations are: weather and body temperature,
humidity, air conditioning, physical activity, long driving, flying,
long periods using a computer mouse, menstruation, types of foods
you have recently eaten and fluid consumption. So measure your
finger a few times over a couple of days with our Ring-Sizer when
your fingers are not too hot or cold. When you are happy with
your choice, tie the supplied label to the corresponding Sizer
ring and return the whole appliance to us.
For customers in Germany or UK we provide a stamped addressed
envelope.
For customers in other countries we provide an addressed envelope,
and return postage will be refunded via an adjustment to your
final payment.
As soon as we have received the Ring Sizer back, Kerstin Laibach
can begin work on your ring(s).

Jewellers
Measurement
If you need your ring(s)
urgently and our Ring Sizer postal option would take too long,
then as our second choice we suggest that you visit a local jeweller
who may ask a small fee to measure your finger. A reliable jeweller
should take into account the potential swell and contraction of
your fingers throughout the day.
Please make sure the jeweller gives you your ring finger size
(circumference) in millimetres as well as the size based on the
ring measuring system used in your country. NOTE: This must be
an exact physical measurement of your ring finger in millimetre
circumference and not a paper or table conversion of your country's
ring measuring system.
Please ensure that your jeweller measures your ring size with
a standard ring-sizer of which the bands are normally between
3 to 4 mm in width. They must not measure your ring with a wider
band ring-sizer. What we require is the exact ring size using
the standard ring sizer. It is very important that you are told
by the jeweller the width of the band on their ring-sizer you
have been measured with. Please provide us with these details
along with your ring size. By knowing these exact sizes we can
make your ring the right "comfort" size even if the
ring we are going to make you is much wider. For example, if we
are making you a wide ring, but your exact ring finger measures
normally 19.9 mm, your "comfort-fit" size will be approx
+/- 20.15 mm, (depending on inner curvature etc). In fact, it
gets quite technical to ensure we can make your ring a comfortable
fit, whether it is a skinny ring, a wide ring or an unconventional
shape. Therefore, it is your job to provide us your the exact
ring finger measurement based on the above requirements and it
is our job to gauge the comfort-fit size of your finished ring
based on those measurements.
To Recap ... what we
require from you when you get your ring finger measured by your
local jeweller:
1. Your exact ring finger size in
millimeters circumference (preferable). USA ring size is also
accepted.
2. The width of the band on the jeweller's ring-sizer used to
measure your ring finger.
A Note
about Ring Sizes Worldwide
Some countries use
different ring measuring systems. However, Laibach requires the
simplest and more widely used measurement, which is your ring
finger size in millimetres (diameter but preferably circumference).
In fact, millimetre ring sizing is far more accurate than different
convoluted calibration systems still widely used in countries
like the UK, USA and Japan. There are equally confusing but less
used systems in Switzerland, Germany, France, and Russia.
Once you know your ring size in millimetres, a jeweller anywhere
in the world will be able to make your ring based on those exact
measurements.
Avoiding
Sizing Problems and Important Advice Relating to Our Sizing Conditions
We can only accept
ring finger measurements taken by the two methods mentioned above;
any other "do it yourself" measuring methods (including
tape strip devices) found elsewhere on the internet are inadequate
for our requirements as they are invariably riddled with potential
fitting problems.
To help avoid any fitting problems and therefore disappointment
on receipt of your Laibach ring, please make absolutely sure that
you provide us with your exact finger measurement. Although our
Ring Sizer (or a measurement taken by your local jeweller) will
help us establish your ring size, there can be other combined
factors which can influence the final fitting size, such as the
intended wearer's finger characteristics along with a less conventional
ring design based on band widths and shapes. However, the exact
finger measurement you provide enables us to tune your finished
ring to a "comfort" size, based on its design and width. We can
discuss precise fitting preferences relating to any unusual ring
and finger characteristics during ordering and sizing. If you
have any doubt or concerns whatsoever about your ring measurement
during ordering, please get in touch and we will be happy to advise.
PLEASE NOTE: We cannot
accept responsibility if the finished ring is based exactly on
the measurement you have given us, but does not fit because you
had originally provided us with the wrong ring size. However,
we do understand the measuring difficulties you may encounter
when not in the physical presence of the goldsmith who is making
your rings. With this in mind, we provide a limited but generous
after sales support in addition to our standard conditions on
return items. One of the following may apply to your purchase
in such an event:
1. If the ring we have
made you is a standard band ring design, that can be adjusted
smaller or larger without disassembly, we will do this for you
for the first time free of charge - but you will be charged delivery.
2. If the ring we have
made you is a design which requires more complex adjustments,
you will be charged a proportional fee for the additional work
involved plus delivery.
3. If the design of
your ring is of an atypical width or shape, it may be that the
ring size you have provided us - even if it is technically correct
- may not "feel" comfortable when you are wearing it. In such
cases we can adjust your ring the first time free of charge if
the adjustment required is no more than 0.5 mm in circumference.
You will be charged delivery.
4. If you order a ring
from our Collection as a surprise present, we will adjust the
size free of charge (but you will be charged delivery). If gold
and platinum rings require larger sizing, you will however be
charged additional material costs. Note: unusual designs are sometimes
not adjustable. Please notify us if your ring is a surprise and
subsequent adjustments may be required.
Returns period relating
to any of the circumstances above is usually within 14 days of
receipt of purchase.
Note for long distance
customers (i.e outside Europe):
If your sending costs for resizing are too expensive we may suggest
alternative low-cost, cost-adjusted or cost-free alternatives
- These alternatives are served on a customer by customer basis,
relating to individual circumstances.
